Get to Know Us

Founded in 2022 at UC Santa Barbara, the Stella Polaris Club is dedicated to advancing women’s financial education in Guatemala. In just two years, we’ve raised over $14,000 to support Women in Justice’s programs, which economically empower women and aid them in breaking gender-based cycles. Our grassroots fundraising efforts engage the UC Santa Barbara community through a variety of student-led events and initiatives. From selling baked goods during finals week, hosting local bands and second-hand clothing sales, to collaborating with other student organizations and businesses, we bring people together to make a meaningful impact. Our members have also worked with the Women in Justice team to deepen our understanding of the link between gender-based inequality and poverty in Guatemala. Through this collaboration, we've gained valuable entrepreneurial skills and raised awareness about the transformative work being done to support women’s economic development.
